This is my current configuration, the processor is running under the stock cooler.

- Asus A8N-E nForce4 Ultra
- AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ (Socket 939)

Along with this case:
Thermaltake VA3000 Series DreamTower- Tsunami Series
http://www.thermaltake.com/XaserCase/tsunami/bna/bna.htm
I also have the Arctic Silver 5 thermal compound (http://www.arcticsilver.com/as5.htm).

I'm planning to buy a new cooler, which would you recommend for me?
And what about that one ( http://www.zalman.co.kr/eng/product/view.asp?idx=141&pr_name=CNPS7000B-Cu ) ?

I wouldnt recomend Zalman cos they are overpriced.

Tuniq Tower is probably the best. But it all depends on what you need. If yu dont plan on ocing with high voltage then a Arctic Freezer 64 is very good.

I have the BigTyphoon and its great, keeps my CPU below 40C.

And what do you think about Scythe Infinity (http://www.scythe-eu.com/en/products/cpu-cooler/infinity-cpu-cooler.html) ?
I've read a lot of good opinions about that one...

Yes I have also read a ton of good reviews about that one. If it's not out of your budgen then get it. You cant really go wrong with these coolers. They will do what they are made for.
If one performa an inch better than the other who cares.

Didn't your X2 come with the AMD heatpipe cooler?? Which is more than adequate for 2-6-2.8 Ghz (which is all you will get out of that chip).

The aftermarket coolers are only slightly better than it, maybe a bit quieter.

you have the same system as you

I had a Vortex TX from coolermaster, and id say.. get something better since the 3800 can get hot if you OC it :p

I don't think the 3800s come with the stock heatpipe cooler. My AM2 didn't. My rig was getting too hot for my comfort (55+C) with a 400Mhz oc. I got the Zalman 9500 and couldn't be happier with it! My load temps with the oc are <45C now.

Personally I've put a AC Silencer 64 and AC Silvr 5 on my X2 3800+; it's a s939 one. I pushed it to 2.4 GHz as an afterthought, no voltage modding. Even C'n'Q kept working fine.
I dig Arctic Cooling HS+fans: cheap, efficient, silent. I have several.
