I have a home wireless network with DSL. One computer is connected through wired, and another through wireless. My wired computer connects to the internet through the router fine. The wireless one does not. It recognizes the wireless network, connects to it, but it doesn't have internet, and I recently had a LAN party where internet was available through the wireless LAN. I have run spybot search and destroy and various anti-virus software and fixed whatever issues, but it still has the problem. Why is it doing this? And how can I fix it? Thanks in advance.
If you're running Windows XP, try disabling the WZC (Wireless Zero Configuration) service.
Make sure you're getting a valid IP address. You shouldn't be using ICS (Internet Connection Sharing). Your router should be setup probably with PPPoE to accept the IP address from your ISP, in turn using DHCP or statically setting up your computers to connect to the router. DNS should be set to obtain DNS automatically.
I hope something in there helps you out.
