That's what it will work with.

Doesn't look like it will work with AM2 sockets, your 4600, a 939?

The X2 4600+ was made for both 939 and AM2? Is your CPU a socket 939 or a socket AM2?

At least 3 of the 20 reviewers discuss the cooler as used on their AM2 system.

Some AM2 boards come with S939-style mountings so check if your curent heatsink is mounted by screws or by clipping.
Overall that is a good cooler, however, for both cool and quiet, take a look at something from Zalman of Arctic cooler; Most HSF vendors speculate with their specs giving a lower noise rating (Tt is especially notorious) so I'd use some site like frostytech.com and their comprehensive tables:
http://www.frostytech.com/articleview.cfm?articleid=192...
; one of the GIGABYTE coolers (don't know if it's your model) is second for efficiency, but with an unbearable 71dB noise.

Whelp, seems as though somethings can be misleading when you read the spec's.

I found that eWiz has the same HSF by Gigabyte, and it's specs say AM2 compatible.

GIGABYTE GH-PDU22-SC G-Power Lite CPU Fan For LGA775/Socket478/K8/AM2

Edit: Wish eWiz would have shown a pic of the hardware/bracket for it. The name of the product differ somewhat, but it looks exactly the same. :?

Sorry if I mislead this guy. I do recall some 939 HSF being used on AM2, and it didn't quite work out.
