I have my PPC (audiovox 6600) set up so I can sync over the web, this works
great most of the time. However, yesterday I would get as far as connecting
and then it would die off. Once I got home I put the PPC in the cradle and
activesync, 3.8, gave me an odd error:

the PPC is not compatible with this version of activesync

I'm typing the error from memory, and quite honestly mine isn't great so it
may not be the exact wording. Rebooting my PC fixed the issue. I had
rebooted the PPC but still didn't work. Wireless syncing is working fine
this morning, had to sync 6k emails and all went well.

Anyone have an idea of what may have caused the above issue? anyone ever see
the above issue before?

I haven't seen it first hand but I have heard of it. Try uninstalling
activesync and re-installing it. I don't know what happened with the
connection it could have just been a glitch with the wireless carrier or the
server.
