[SOLVED] How to use install disk on a Mac?

I have a couple disks for Win7 and Ubuntu lying around I'd like to use on my Mac Mini 3,1 but I can't boot from them. I tried the holding down alt during startup and the disk didn't show up. Any and all help is appreciated.

To set up Windows on your Mac Mini, you need to install Boot Camp from within OS X first. Go here for help:
