First timer looking to build a new DAW with a side of gaming..was wondering if all these parts are compatible and if I can raid 0 the hard drives with this build...

No sound card at the moment because I am also somewhat of a production noob so I'm not sure if i need a soundcard or if i can just use http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_u...2496-main.html as my card for listening to playback and using it for midi slots (connecting a keyboard etc..)

Looking for suggestions on the MOBO (is it ok?) and any issues with compatibility and any add-ons that would give me better performance...and if everything will fit in the case.

Thanks

Looks good to me, but unless you have a special use for it you won't be needing 'D-LINK DFE-538TX 10/100 ETHERNET ADAPTER PCI'. That mobo has onboard GBLAN.

It would be a good idea to have another HDD, you leave yourself open to trouble if you only have a RAID0 array with everything on it.

I have used the Audiophile 24/96 for four years now and it is essentially invisible. Very quiet and trouble free.

I have the P180 for my DAW, but it is a pain in the ass to work in. If i da my old Sonata BQE, that case was the best. The P180 is overhyped, and over priced. does cooling well, but honestly, it makes a clutter with all of the cables, because of how the case is designed. I have a Emu 0404, and a X-Fi Platinum. Love the X-fi, its ASIO drivers are killer, 24bit, 96khz 5.1 mixing. that niiice. Even if the X-fi is a "consumer" card it has tones of pro audio features. (And its great for gaming too) what DAW software are you using?

Haver you ever tried Acid Pro 6? I work a lot faster in Acid than i do in Cubase and Sonar. I do like sonar for the 64bit support though. Acid is multi threaded too. give it a shot.
