i just read the PSU specs . and it says no PCI-E connector. is this a problem.

my friend also has 1 spare ASUS 400W PSU. Are they good? it has dual 12V rails with a total of 24A on 12V.

If you can get that ASUS PSU for free then that should work according to your specs. Most of the time though, you cannot just add the 12v1 and the 12v2 rail together to get the total amp rating. Did you do this? What is the model number/name of the ASUS PSU so we can check it out.

yes i did add the 2 rails together. and it is not a 400W but a 350W PSU. i dont know the model number but i checked the specs at the asus website.

and why does every1 wqant to go for a 600W PSU. we r facing an energy crisis but companies like nvidia and ati are producing evermore power hungry cards
