PC Express vs. PCMCIA

So here is the deal, I'm looking to a buy a new cell card and there is the PCMCIA vs PC Express debate. My machine doesn't have a PC Express slot, just pcmcia, but I'm thinking of upgrading soon. Are pc express cards compatible with PCMCIA slots, and is it worth my time to wait on the new cards? Information on this new standard compared to the old standard of PCMCIA is limited, and not very clear about backward compatibility. Any info would be highly appreciated.

Nope, I mean PC express. A pc express slot looks almost exactly like a PCMCIA slot, the card that goes in it is similar to a PCMCIA card, but it has a large notch cut out of the corner. Completely new technology, Dell is shipping it in most of their latitude laptops.
