Hey Everybody, I'm going to build a new PC and wanted to know your thoughts

Processor: C2D E6600
Motherboard: Gigabyte 965P-DQ6 (ver 2.0)
Power Supply: Thermaltake ToughPower 600W
Graphics Card: Asus 640MB 8800GTS
Case: Coolermaster Stacker 830
Hard drive: 1x Seagate 320 SATA 3.0
RAM: 2GB 5300 Corsair twin
Monitor: 24in Widescreen Benq FP241W

Also I saw that I could buy a Coolermaster Real Power 650W PSU for 2/3s of the price of the Thermaltake. Should I go for the Coolermaster or stick with the Thermaltake?

Thanks all

You planning on overclocking? If not, then some of your specs are overkill and you can save some money. If you are, then you're fine.

But ditch that mobo, it's overpriced. Get a DS3. The Rev 2.0's can take quad-core and overclock like champs. Save some money there.

PSU. Thermaltake...meh. Better options, better prices, better quality than that. Your call though. Depends on your budget really.

Case. I hope you have ALOT of stuff to put in there because the stacker is frickin huge. Seems like overkill for only 1 hard drive and 1 optical.

Speaking of which......optical drive?

The 8800GTS *should* have decent horsepower to run that 24" LCD....but if you plan on doing hardcore gaming with the eye candy, then bump up to the 8800GTX.

Get DDR2 800 with cas of 4. It make a big difference. Don't think that you are limited to buying Corsair, there are many other good brands that are less expensive.
