As I am about to build a PC, currently I am looking at buying a gfx card. All 3 of the following are in my price range, but I can't really go any higher (8800 GTS 640/8800 GTX) right now. All prices are NZD.

Unfortunately, the 8800 GTS 320 isn't on the charts here so I can't compare them.

Geforce 8800 GTS, 320MB, PCI Express x16, $569.89 or
Radeon X1950 XT, 256MB, PCI-Express x16, $537.75, or
Radeon X1950 PRO 512MB, PCI-Express x16, $421.40.

FOR THE PRICE which is best. You can suggest other stuff if you want. Also, how grunty a PSU am I going to need if I get the 8800?

(Btw, X1950 XTX 512MB, is $665.00 in New Zealand at the very cheapest, and I can't go over $600)

The 8800, hands down.

The 8800 GTS is even better than the more expensive X1950 XTX.

The 8800 is best choice.

8800, no question about it

Ditto on the 8800GTS 320.

You'll need a PSU that supplies at least 26A across the 12V rails. You do not add up the total amperage on the rails to get this figure. See the PSU-101 sticky on calculating the amperage across the 12V rails.

The Mushkin HP-550 would be a good candidate. Stay far clear of the Antec SmartPower series.
