Trying to track a user access hours to network....

Is there a log that keeps track of user logins to network?
Is that a default log or could be customized?
Could the log be truncated?

Any help appreciated.

For domain users you can enable auditing of "account logon" events in Domain
Controller Security policy but that will only show logons on the domain
controller that authenticated the user. If you need to track logoffs also
you will need to enable auditing of "logon" events on the domain computers
that the users logon to. You can use Event Comb to make it easier to gather
events from multiple computers security logs. The links below may help. ---
