Memory Allocation

I have a Jornada 545 with a SH3 processor 16 Mb internal memory and a
128Mb Flash Card.

I have put most of my programs on my flash card but I always seem to get
a critical low memory indication, it gets quite regular at times

Being a reasonable newbie to the PPC world, I have not quite got the
hang of memory allocation how is this done on the PPC ?

My Main memory shows the following:

Total Memory 15.87Mb

Storage Program

Allocated 13.71Mb 2.16Mb

In use 13.18Mb 1.83Mb

Free 0.53Mb 0.33Mb

My Storage Card shows the following:

Total memory: 124.47Mb

In use 13.76Mb

Free 110.71Mb

When I got the PPC, it had all the usual basic programs on it (Word
Excel etc) which I assume are stored in Main Memory, I added additional
programs but usually these were placed in the Storage (Flash)Card.

When one selects Programes form the Menu are the programs show stored in
the Main Memory and can I move them to the Storage Memory and keep the
Main Memory clear?

I think an idiots guide to Memory Alloction is needed here, please can
someone help?

Thanks

You don't have enough memory available to run programs - the program memory. You should try to get your used storage memory down to
around 8 MB or less. The more memory you have available for program memory, the less likely you are to have a low memory situation.
