Okay after some major research, forum hounding, and price searching, here's what I've got so far. Only thing I've bought is the EVGA 680i board

Antec Nine Hundred: 59.99
EVGA 680i: 269.99
Buffalo Firestix (PC6400 Firestix FSX800D2C-K2G): 189.99
EVGA 8800GTX 768mb : 516.99
Corsair HX Series CMPSU-620HX 620W Power: 123.90
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3320620AS 320GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache: 94.99
Intel E6600: 315.90

Total: 1571.75

How does it look now? Also if anyone has cheaper prices let me know

You could get better ram for the same price or cheaper ram. Why the 680i? will you be overclocking? I think the 680i mobos are not worth the money when you can get a good OC from a $150 mobo. looks good tho

i will be doing OCing, the buffalo ram was recommended by many as a good RAM to OC with that wasn't unholy expensive such as Corsair dominators 8500 c5d. The reason for the 680i is that as this is a new computer since my shuttle box 4 years ago i want to have a good future proofed computer, especially since i will be running SLI later on (when i get the money lol). The expandability of the board is also a nice thing. But yea i do agree it is a bit pricey, but i hope i won't have to upgrade anytime in the long run, 3+ years.

Looks good, but if you can wait for ATI's R600 and the 89xx series before buying the GTX as either the price will drop or you will get more performance for your money. Also, I am looking at the antec 900 for my next case and everywhere I have looked they have been 100-150. Mind telling me where you can get one for 60?

the r600 card means a whole new round of mobo upgrades and such and i really don't want to wait anymore, ive saved for 4 years now :p no point in the mentality of "wait on upgrade again, and it'll be cheaper again"

frys.com, search antec nine hundred, 99.99, then a 40 mail in rebate, this isn't counting tax or anything either so it will be a little higher. :) Though definitely buy it today or tomorrow. The rebate purchase period ends on 2/22. I think its OOS right now, but you'll eventually get it and the rebate will still be valid. Total cost for me, shipping to La Jolla, CA was 126. so total cost is 80ish, shipping is a bitch -.-' though if you order more u can get free shipping
