I was given a notice that I am entitled to 6 months of free local channels from
Directv, for being a steady good customer. Fine! I turned on my hdtv Philips
set and tested the channels out. I could not get them. Called Directv and got
what limited support they are able to give, and still can't get them. I have
OTA where I get my hdtv local channels. I went into Main
menu\installation\setup\source and clicked on Satellite 101 and the transponder
read 62. I was told to go a notch down on my oval antenna. I did and I managed
to get it up to 74...but still cannot get the local channels. About a year ago,
I was given a free bee on my local channels and got them with no problem and
certainly no tweaking as I'm trying to do now. Personally, I can't see how the
wind ( according to the female tech ) could of disaligned my dish...but
anything is possible.

What market are you in. Your locals are probably NOT on 101, unless they're
in a spot beam. Most locals that are on 101 are being moved off, with
exception of East & West Coast network stations (and now HD versions).

Aside: It's great to know that soon 8 HD channels and 9 SD channels on 101
will be used for channels that most are not eligible for.
