You can use Group Policy - computer configuration/Windows settings/security
settings -services. You can then specify the service to be disabled. You may
not want to do such at the domain level or else domain controllers could be
affected also. It could be easily done via a Group Policy linked to an
Organizational Unit where the computer accounts live. You do not have to
configure all the services - just the ones you want to manage via Group
Policy and you could end up with just once service configured. An undefined
setting for a service means that it will not affect the current services
configuration on a computer. If you do decide to configure other service be
sure to carefully examine the permissions assigned to them as by default
Group Policy/new blank security template will assign excessive permissions
to a service when you configure it. --- Steve
