I recently bought this card because the previous ATI card was an absolute dog on a Linux box, as a result of the terrible ATI drivers. I don't game at all--just watch HD videos and edit photos, etc. I know the card is probably a bit overkill for how it's being used, but I got a pretty good price, and I wanted a very snappy desktop. I am happy with the improved performance but not very happy with the noise coming from the new Nvidia. I have been recommended to look at some Zalman cooling fans because they are quieter. However, I'm wondering if I can just put a heat sink on it? If I'm not gaming, will it get very hot?
