I was wondering if the 8800 GTS has some Clearance issue whit the Northbridge fan on the ASUS A8N-E.

I have an 8800GTS and an A8N-E. No problems. The only trouble I had was with that weird pci-express latch. Once the card is in it's hard to see the latch and unhook the card. This latch is so flimsy and poorly designed. I really dread the thought of messing with it again.

But yes, it fits.
