at the moment on newegg this is costing me $1,225.00
i want to shave as much off as possible, without drastically affecting the performance of it (I play cod2 with it btw). so any help is appreciated.
btw, i know your going to say look for a different psu, even if it means spending more, did some hw on that psu, and it will be able to run what i need being quiet and giving out enough power.

Not sure how you get to $1225. Did you maybe leave out a hard drive?

In any case, to save money you definitely need to go with an E6300 over the 6600.

For the same RAM price, you might consider the DDR2-800 Corsairs ($161 AR, free shipping): http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=85025-5&ps=ho1

As for the PS, here's a better, cheaper one ($75 AR, free shipping): http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=371926

However, what you really need is something like this:
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=316504 (OCZ Gamestream 600w, $85 AR, free shipping). Too bad ZZF is backordered on them. You can get one now from newegg for $115 AR + $8 shipping.

also performance wise, how much worse is the 6300, or the 6400 compared to the 6600? cause i have heard that it is DEFINATLY worth the money to go with the 6600. but is the 63, or 64 overclockable to the 6600?

also why is 4m's in the 2nd cache much better? kinda new at this so may sound like a dumb question, but i have no idea whatsoever
