Hi,

Probably a FAQ, but is there a way to get the best possible pictures
from both the sources I mentioned?

My TV is a Samsung HDTV Tantus with only one set of YPbPr inputs.

I have to forego either my DVD player's progressive scan capability
or my HTDV receiver's, unless there is an A/B switch on the market
that I can use to select which of the two devices is fed into the
single set of YPbPr inputs on the TV.

Or is there a better solution?

Most A/V receivers have multiple component inputs and one component
output. Assuming that you have a A/V receiver, plug the component
outputs from the HD and DVD into the receiver, and the output from
A/V receiver to the input on the display, then use the A/V receiver to
switch between the inputs.

If you <don't> have a A/V receiver with component in/out, you may be
SOL...try googling for "A/V component switcher".

Does your HD receiver have other HD outputs other than Component, such as
RGB or DVI? Does your TV have other HD inputs that match those outputs?
Just a little FYI, just because you have a component input doesn't mean
it's an HD input. I got bit by that. My TV had two component inputs. I
plugged my progressive DVD into one and it looked terrable. Turns out
that that component input was only for 480i. I didn't know that until I
read the manual (what.. read the manual?)
