Just wondering if I would be able to use a wireless bridge to connect to the existing wireless network and hook the ethernet cable from the bridge to the phone so I could get a connection. I am totally clueless on how to do it.

The reason is the cable modem is in the other room and the only way to get a connection to the phone is to run a cable across the apartment.

Can you do that with a bridge?

In theory, yes.

What wireless router do you have?
What VOIP phone do you have?
Did you already purchase a Bridge?
