I want to upgrade my graphic card in my computer but i dont know which one is compatible with my computer. How do you know which one is compatible or not? Is there a program or website that can scan through my computer to see which is compatible?

thx

so the x1950 pro and the 7600gs are the only best compatible one for my computer?

Between these two, which one is better?

Any 8x AGP card is compatible.. but those two are among the best choices.

The X1650 PRO, X1650 XT and 7600 GT are also good choices.

You are right. But I believe in being definitive.

The 7600 GS has the same core as the 7600 GT, so with a simple overclock u can save a lot of money. Thus, at 100$ the 7600 GS is as good as those three cards that u have mentioned.

The X1950 Pro is the higher-end alternative.

I see your point, but I'd still take a stock X1650 PRO over a 7600 GS.

From what I've seen, the memory on the 7600 GS is too slow to make a big performance difference even if you overclock the core to the heavens.

But the X1650 PRO has some real nice GDDR3 memory and better stock performance than the 7600 GS, and it can overclock, too...

so the X1650 PRO with 512mb would still be compatible with computer? Also, what is a Dual DVI in a graphic card? Why is there a Sapphire, Diamond, and ATI radeon X1650 PRO? Are those the brand or something else?

thx

It will, but you should know the amount of memory has relatively little affect on performance.

But if they're the same price, sure, get the 512.

brand doesn't matter really... they're all based on the same reference design.

ok, I got the x1650pro 512 mb.

No one remember to mention about the power supply requirement.
"Connection to the system power supply is required; 350Watt power
supply or greater"

My computer got a power supply of only 250 watt. What would happen if

I put the X1650pro in my computer?

Well, lock-ups, instability, PC mayhem. And then again it may run flawlessly. I don't know the +12 volt amperage rating for a X1650 off the top of my head, but I'm assuming it's more than 19 amps. You should have figured this out before you bought it, buzzy.

The OP is obviously not into overclocking
