i was jes wonderin how AMD n ATI name their products. i know fa sho how nVidia does it- its all really clean. they have like a 6, 7, 8 etc series and have 200-600-800 suffix (like 6200, 6600, 6800) and the higher the numba, the better. i heard ATI's all over the number line with their shyt. and wut bout AMD? does the higher the # they have mean more power? 3500 is better than the 3000? wuts their high-end cpu's/gpu's? thx.

ati catalyst and driver is the year so catalyst 7.2 is 2007 2nd major release.

then ati went 5, 6,7.8.

with a 9 - 9550, 9600tx, 9800xt
then they went 8 - 850xt
then they added a 1 - x1800xt
then they went with 3, 6.9 - 1300,1600,1900 (this is not in the exact order)
then 50 x1950 pro, 1650xt

xtx = best xt = next pro=next

now 2 for the newest unreleased - 2900xtx new big boy r600 - super cooker, super late, super bugged

amd named of pentiums

so a 3000+ is better the a p4 3.0 but then they lost it

so a 4200+ WAS A 4.2ghz p4

then amti lost it so now you have a x2 4200+ which is 2 4.2ghz p4's and 6000+ which i guess is 2 6ghz p4 - i doubt it scales correctly

then fx -50 's are singles fx-60s are dual core and 70's are also dula core but 4x4 only new socket you need 2 and special mobo sold as a set of 3 - 2 chips and a mobo

-----
---- intel -- i am guessing from memory on alot of this so please correct me
net burst - bursted after 4.25ghz or 3.8ghz stock or the 570j the last - no 10ghz scaling due to electron leakage

p4= 3ghz = 3.0
then 500 series = prescott 775 super cooker
then 600 seres = supposed to run cooler with thermal throttling
661 = the 1 had smaller die and new features

800= crapy dual core = 2 to die
900 single die dual core

core 2 new architecture shorter path (like 20 steps?) from ~33 steps of net burst - extra calculation per cycle

quad core = combines the 800 series 2 cores packed in to one package plus the C2D

-------i am bored and waiting for emails-----

well nvidia
5000 junky

6000 seies - 6600 6800 then you add GS GT ultra ( big improvement)
7000 7300 7600 7800 new core GTX = killer
then remake it the 7900, smaller die - i think????
7950 GX2 2= dual gpu
8000 gts gtx s= pretty good stuff x=good stuff

after gpu's been out a while they detune it (make it woarse) usually call it a GS or xt

IFB (amti is always #2)

I figured a one liner would be all I needed to gage your age level. I dont think mommy would like that tone of voice out her wittle baby.

I love it, a kid with heatburst has the gals to attempt to rag on my opteron(s). :!: I dont know what to laugh at first, the heatburst or the HTML on your website. :p

heatburst FTW. :lol: :roll: Carefull this summer, I would hate to see your house on the news because your PC spontaneously burst into flames and burned down your neighborhood.

You should put a disclaimer on that site of yours...
"Sorry there is no checkout system for my really whack systems. My HTML skills are too poor to build a checkout cart and mommy wont spring for the ones I found on the internet."

Dont worry youll get the rest of your response in PM.

Right on Cats rule, Dogs drool

I have two huge pet peeves, anyone who hurts a child and anyone who hurts an animal. If you heist a bank, I figure you needed the money, nobody got hurt and the bank's insured anyway. But if you hurt a kid or a kitten I'm coming after you to the ends of the earth!

Therefore, OP, you are respectfully requested to CHANGE YOUR FREAKIN' NAME!

I guess you would be angry if someone were to bat a kid by swinging a cat by its tail and whacking the 4 year old over the head?

I would be angry at anyone even suggesting it. That's why I've just logged your DNS and tracking you now! :lol:

Look, there is more than enough cruelty towards innocents who can't protect themselves in this world to have people naming themselves so despicably in a public forum.

MODS! I would strongly suggest that this thread be locked, deleted, burned and its ashes scattered to the winds. Thank you.

sandman sent me this(should I worry?) :

figured a one liner would be all I needed to gage your age level.

I love it, a guy whos got to overclock his P4 to ludicrous speed just to stay in the game.

heatburst FTW.

I hear that if you overclock that P4 of yours any more the northeast is headed for another summer of rolling blackouts! I personally wouldnt bother, your house on the news because your computer spontaneously burst into flames and burned down your neighborhood just isnt worth it.

Dont worry about that email reply, I dont think mommy has it in the budget to spring for little johnnys next computer. Youll just have to go out and get a job of your own this time.

Thats a great website btw. I bet it hurt that tiny wittle brain of yours to learn all that really difficult HTML.

Dont worry about your ban. Ill stop by the abuse department on the way in to my ISP network engineering job. Im sure your website appearing on every blacklist on the face of the planet will keep you busy for a month or so. Or perhaps I should accidentally redirect one of those Avici TSR OC-48 blades to your house. You know us rednecks and numbers longer than ten get confused. Im sure you can understand if it takes a few days to get that traffic back to normal.

The site does not intergrade with html - the site was built by a plumber!

Why would you log the DNS Server? Goofy.

Mickey Mouse is advised to take Minnie to the psychiatrist for her problem. Mickey exclaims "I didn't say she was crazy, I said she was f*****g Goofy! :lol:

I dunno. I guess I wouldn't make a very good hacker or P.I., would I? :oops:

incorrect...

Radeon 7000 series, 8000 series, 9000 series, X series, X1 series, soon to be X2 series...

example: Radeon 7500, Radeon 8500, Radeon 9500, Radeon x300, Radeon x1300...

next logical step will be exampled by Radeon x2300...

Visual

X1-3-00
X2-2-00
X1-9-00

X1-9-50
X1-6-50

See?

To Shoder:

X1 = Generation
9 = Model
00 = Revision
Xtx = classification

x1950xtx is read: Model 9 rev 50 (five o) gen x1, class xtx.
