I've been researching hardware for a new rig for awhile, however, I thought in the mean time that it would be interesting and informative if I disassembled my old emachines computer that is quite a piece of crap. I was wondering if this is a wise decision or what. I'd like to clean it out and stuff, and I was also wondering if anything besides the inside of the psu holds a charge or if anything else would be able to kill me or render me unconscious etc. Thanks for the help.

Only thing I can say is to ground yourself before touching stuff... just open it up and touch the exposed metal of the case. Nothing to render you injured in any way if you have had the computer off for a few hours, I recommend it off overnight.

Watch out, your skin oils could harm exposed metals on the motherboard.
