It's not gonna cost a lot to switch over so my question is...

I have 2gb of PNY 667 ram...

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820178134

Will this work well overclocking with the c2d 4300? If not... what should I buy?

Corsair RAM?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820220144

or Patriot RAM?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145034

And I'm going to be buying the Gigabyte board, but I'm confused, it it the...

GA-965P?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16813128012

or the...

GA-965G
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813128018

that I want to get??

So I'm wondering if my PNY Ram will work and what Gigabyte board I should get.

Another question I have is, will my 430w Enlight Power Supply support a 4300 overclock, the gigabyte board, 1 hard drive and cdrom, and a 8800gts?

Eh, probably best to get a 500w+PSU, with 4 12v rails if your going to be using a 8800.

What's the current your 12v rail(s) anyway, if it's ~20A you might be fine :)

I'm unsure about that but you may as well get vista seeing as you'll need to get an OS anyway, I'd go with the 64 bit ultimate edition, although i'm not sure if certain programs will work with 64bit...

Have a look in the software section about 64 and 32 bit versions. :)

Get a new PSU if you're overclocking and using an 8800GTS. Normally I wouldn't recommend a CPU upgrade like that, but if you are going to overclock quite a bit it'll be a good upgrade.

You can buy an XP licence and get the free upgrade to Vista. Then you can decide to upgrade whenever DX10 games are released.

RAM is perfectly fine.

But you need to get a new PSU. Id recommend Silverstone´s 500W PSU since Silverstone in general has proven that they make the best PSUs in this universe and 500W should be absolutely enough for now.
If youre planning on upgrading, more W might become mandatory. This PSU here should serve all your power needs perfectly.

Your ram is fine, will be good for at least 3ghz. without even overclocking the ram.
You want the DS3 965P. The 965G has built in graphics and will limit your OC.

kukito is right about the XP with free Vista upgrade route. Make sure you get XP media center as it includes the free upgrade to vista premium. XP Home only free upgrades to vista basic.

Ycon is right about the Power Supply. I have a Silverstone in my new rig and its very nice. I have the Strider 600, its only $29 more then the 500 but is more powerful and has modular cables.

Hey MrsBytch, you play BF2/2142 and have a 7600gt with a 3ghz c2d. That's exactly what I'll have if I don't get an 8800gts. I run 1280x1024 medium settings and on 48-64 player maps I get 20-30 fps average w/ my x2 3800 and 7600gt. What kind of FPS do you get with similar settings with your setup?
