Ditto!
I just bought a Samsung HLN-5063W today and I have the Motorola DCT-5100
HDTV cable box from ComCast. I have tried connecting the two via every
component video connection and the combination fails to work at 720p
resolution. The screen just flickers. My greatest concern is "do I have a
defective TV"? I no of no way to test the TV to make sure it is capable of
720p as stated.

Although it looks great with the DCT-5100 set to 1080i and having the TV
downconvert the signal. I wonder how much better it would look having the
source do the conversion. The DVI option is not appealing to me because I
like the convenience of switching all my sources on my home theatre
system. It is a pain to have to switch that plus the TV input all the
time. If anyone has a clue as to the cause of this problem, please let me
know? I will contact ComCast tomorrow and see what they have to say. I
will post any new information I discover here.

Suggest having the set checked out with a signal generator applied to each
of the component inputs to ascertain if the problem is within the set or an
incompatibility with the Comcast box. Seen a lot of strange problems
attributed to the sets actually a result of incompatibility. Not only on
Samsung but multiple manufacturers products. Again, have the set checked out
using another source, even if it is only a DVD with the 720 option.

My guess is it's an incompatibility problem. I have a Motorola
DCT-5100 and a Samsung HLP5663, and the same thing happens at 720p.
Using 1080i is fine, although I ended up going with DVI.
