So I have been building my own PC's since my dreaded AST 486/66. And every time my own builds have exceeded anything I could buy from proprietary vendors and for less. Plus I just dig on building my own. That being said...I am getting very tired of my dell inspiron 6000. And I don't feel like buying upgrades for it because there is no option to put in a new gfx card. So I want to know if it's possible to build your own laptop. After a cursory look the best/closest I could find was...

But still not total control over peices parts. Any ideas?

My preference for laptops are refurbished Laptops from Outlet.Dell.Com.
Then get an extended warranty.

The reason for this is I beat the living daylights out of my laptops and use them 12+ hours a week and lug them all over the place.

With the Dell warranty they fix anything that goes wrong with it.
The outlet prices are pretty good too.

For PCs, I build my own.
