are these any good? they got good reviews on newegg and for only 80 dollars thats about 25 cents a gig. the only disadvantage i can see is only a 1 year warranty. i have a wd 74 gig raptor right now and love it, but i need more room and somewhere to just stash all my media. should i get it or pay a little more for a seagate or wd?

The Hitachi (IBM) Deskstar T7K500 is a good quality drive though noisy. I still have 2 Hitachi drives 1-4yrs & 1-3yrs old not currently being used. I will probably use these for builds of low end machines for neighborhood kids.
From my experience they are dependable.
