I have Logitec X-530 speakers and a Gigabyte mobo that supports 8 channel sound. Surround sound works perfectly in Quake 4...but that is about it. I can't even get the option in FEAR, and in Far Cry it doesn't work when it is selected.

Is there some sort of secret to getting surround sound to work in some games when you don't have a separate sound card?
