title says it all but im really new to overclocking and ive tried using Programs systool and clockgen to overclock my pentium d 805 but neither of them support my motherboard can anyone give me any detailed intructions on how to do this?
I use the ECS 945P-A on a D 805 2.66, clocked at 3.3GHz. Don't even bother with clockgen or similar crap, OC from the BIOS.
There are several OC guides on this forum, good ones. I don't know what your BIOSes look like, but just push your FSB up by 5MHz steps, and after each step benchmark/stresstest.
Hit <DEL> the moment your PC beeps and/or your keyboard lights flash after switch-on. If you're not sure, switch on and immediately hit <DEL> repeatedly. You should then be in the BIOS - look for a menu or submenu referring to your CPU - this is where you'll be spending a lot of time.
Bear in mind I'm still fairly new to the more extreme OCing, with the memory latency settings and voltages and so on - before now the most OC I've done is to bump bus speeds up by 15~30MHz.
