I am building what I hope will be a small and quick(ish) small form factor computer for my den.

I am cheap, and trying to recycle a few parts I have kicking around, and these include:

Shuttle SK22G2 - Open PCI-E slot, open PCI slot Only 200 watt power supply
Athlon 5200+ (89 watts)
74 gig Raptor harddrive
2 x 1 gigs Crucial DDR2
A "whatever" DVD Burner

I would like to have a video card that supports dual DVI outs, and also get a TV tuner card into the rig as well.

I know the power budget is tight, any suggestions?

I am not a gamer, just want to play a few DVDs, run Vista, feed a set of Klipsch 5.1 ultras for sound and convert a DVI to HDMI for watching on the TV, whlle keeping a standard LCD also wired in at the desk for computer work. - Monitor is 1920 x 1200, TV is 1920 x 1080

I also notice very few video cards seem to list power usage any more in the specs.

Also, what ever happened the the ATO -All in Wonder cards - why were they killed off?

Thanks in advance!

AIW is not dead, yet, it's being replaced.

The last AIW was an X1900, so that's still their current generation;

AMD has said they will be bringing another class of card like the AIW only 'better', whatever that means (most people assuming it will have the Theatre 500 or 650 chip onboard and other features like HDMI connectivity (with HDCP) and even audio over HDMI, but it'll be a secret of course until it launches. Many people thought the AIW was dead after the X8 series, and then they sprung the nice AIWX1800XL

There were rumours that AMD killed the AIW, but it seems that may have been mis-reading the tea leaves.

Anywhoo, to the OP, get an X1650Pro or GF7600GT and then an external USB TV tuner.

The regular AIW is weak (X1300) and the X1900 will be too much for the shuttle power supply when fully under load.

I don't think the X1300 AIW would be weak for his needs. He says he's not a gamer. Unless you're thinking of Aero. Do you think that card won't be able to run Aero smoothly?

I live up in canada and can't find any AIW 2006 PCI-E (ie 1300) cards left anywhere.

Any ideas?

I don't know about Canada but I can find it here (Greece) for €119.86 (about 180 CND) I'd offer to buy it for you if you were willing to pay for shipping but it's REALLY not worth it. Makes more sense to do what TheGreatGrapeApe said: buy a decent card and an external TV tuner

I'm thinking about acceleration for things like H.264 to the full wide screen.

Just like nV, it's only the higher end products that are recommended for full-screen at those resolutions. That's why I picked those specific cards.

Yeah there's alot of place that had them, heck you could gotten them cheap when FutureShop was dumping them for $99. They're starting to pull them though, and so it looks like they're about to be replaced, and from the looks of things it has alot to do with Vista and the DRM of the onboard capture Theatre200 chips. Whatever they're about to be replaced with will be Theater 500-650 based to allow it to work with Vista.

Here's a few of the bigger e-tailers that still have them;
