Computer boots to screen..."please wait while windows boots"...then little
dots starting slowing moving across screen. After 5 min or so...goes to
normal xp home opening screen sayin' it's booting...but then just sits
there...it seems to try but then sits an' thinks some more....another 5 min
later it wants to reload windows.
The isp gave the person some software to ward off adware....
Now it wants to reinstall windows with name, pass, isp.
It's an hp a345c. 2800, 512, 160gb...
Hmmm..any ideas? Possible to save this installation?
Guessing can't reach boot files...adware software somehow changed registry
to do something else....
Thanks in advance....kinda stumped..

What does it look like in Safe Mode? Does it act the same?
(restart and keep tapping the F8 key until the boot options screen appears)

If you got registry errors, a solution is to make a windows repair, you can
do it with your xp cd.
