I saw a new Samsung DLP set at Costco that was labeled as a 60 incher. I
couldn't find a model number and nothing seems to correspond on the Samsung
web site. Does anyone know what model number this new Costco unit is and
which DLP chip it uses?

I'm not sure either. I see on their website that they have a 43" Samsung
HLN437W DLP. I'm guessing that the one you saw is also an HLN model. The
HLN models use the Texas Instruments HD2 DLP chip. The HLP models use the
HD3 chip. If you're in there again an easy way to tell the difference is to
just look closely at the screen. If you can see the square pixels then it's
using an HD2 chip. On the HD3 chip you don't see square pixels. It looks
more like tiny little dots.

The one I saw was a HLN617W. Look on the right side where the three inputs
are located. HLN are "last year models". I own a HLN507W and love it.

The guy that managed this page unfortunately passed away in a bicycle
accident. The page is not 100% up to date but it's a great read.
