I was wondering if there is any source out there that will show you a benchmark of all intel or amd chips. In this way, I can check out the chip I bought a year ago and see how much faster the fastest chip on the market is. This would be very helpful in determining when it's time to consider upgrading.

Post just above, and also here in the forum a up-to-date analysis of price vs performance is in the forum here in the Post:

CPU Price/Performance Graph

which is quite well done.

He could mean something like including Itanium and Xeon.

You're joking right? Itaniums are extremely expensive server chips that don't even run x86.

I for one would like to see Celies and Sempies , Xeon and Opters mixed in a little. Not the whole line up, just a few thrown in for good measure.

It is about time for Tom's to do a major update to the charts. It irks me a little that there are still no E6300 in the lineup, WTF? Don't get me wrong, I'm am greatful for their work, it just seems odd assuming the popularity of the chip. Plus I have one

Sure, but our own forum post (referenced above) *is* up to date, and *does* include the e6300, so you don't have to wait for Tom's.

Where is that referenced? All I see is a link to Tom's charts.
