I am having a problem with automatic standby and hibernate. They will
activate if set to 5 minutes but not if greater than 5 min. This behavior
started about 2 weeks ago after more than a year without problem. I scanned
for virus, ran Spybot and AdAware to no avail. Ran Msconfig and isolated the
Workstation service as causing the problem. If I run without Workstation,
system standby and hibernate are normal. My problem now is what do I do
next? Exported and compared driver lists from both cases and they are the
same. How can I identify the programs that use this service. I do notice
regular disk access. Any help would be greatly appreciated since any system
changes require at least 10 minutes to see results. It's getting quite
tedious!
