Hi everyone,

I have been reading alot recently about directsound3d and EAX in games not working under windows vista.

But I wanted to know if there were any other functions of an x-fi sound card that were affected by vista.

e.g. Dolby digital or DTS no longer work or X-Fi's 24-bit Crystalizer no longer functions or X-Fi's CMSS-3D no longer functions etc.

Thanks

Using current drivers much of the surround sound functionality is unreliable, Direct3D is gone in vista, download alcamy from creative to convert d3d games to a surround sound format in vista.

The UI is dirty, the platinum and fatality versions' control box at the front of the pc won't run the remote control, DTS is meant to not work and dolby isn't either. You still get surround sound in films, but not as good.

This is their beta driver release still, there is meant to be a full driver release in Q1 2007, so any time now there should be a fix to most the issues.

24 bit crystaliser, stereo expend, surround and eax all work fine in the beta.
