Anybody know of a WAP site or a good way to get a free doppler
radar map for any area in the country? I'm most interested
in Raleigh, NC, but would like it for any area.

Thanks, Daniel

For Raleigh, NC add
http://www.srh.noaa.gov/radar/images/DS.p19r0/SI.krax/latest.gif to you
bookmark list in your wap browser. This is what I do on my Nokia 3360.
On my phone I can zoom in on a image and pan around with the joystick to
different parts of the image. It really cool considering its free. One
piece of advice, don’t use Cingular’s proxy server. They may have fixed
it now, but some time back when I first set it up, anytime I used their
server, it compressed it and turned it into a black and white image,
making it totally useless.

Enjoy

WebViewer <http://www.reqwireless.com/webviewer.html> is a Mobile Java (J2ME)
application that allows many Java-enabled cell phones to access full Internet
Web (not WAP) pages by doing a remarkably good job of scaling them down to the
small screen. (It doesn't support all Web features and the phone memory does
impose a page size limit.)

For example, WebViewer can access full NOAA weather pages; e.g., start at
<http://weather.gov>, enter your location in "Local forecast by 'City, St'",
and click Go to access the complete NOAA local forecast page, including radar
and satellite images. A Bookmark can be set for fast repeat access.

WebViewer can be seen most easily in the Online Demo at
<http://www.reqwireless.com/demo-webviewer.html>.

There's a downloadable free 10-day demo. I was able to download it directly
to a Cingular-branded Motorola V551 (using the built-in WAP browser) from the
URL <http://reqwireless.com/wap>. WebViewer got installed as a game, and
worked quite well.
