I read through the dicussion boards and it sounds like I
am not the first to experience this problem.

I did a clean install on a Dell Dimension T600 (600k
processor, 28 gig hard drive). I was doing an upgrade
from NT, and I modified the drive partition to Fat32.

What happens now is that the start-up hangs on the spash
screen ("Starting-up....." ). I can run in safe mode, and
installed new PCI video card driver (NVIDIA GE force
2)...after that it would go to a blank blue screen after
splash screen, but has reverted back to being stuck at the
splash screen after I loaded a few windows updates
including SP 4.

Based upon the other postings, I have disabled power mgmt,
serial ports, disconnected all other periferals, toggled
plug and play, and went to the dell website to download
new SCSI drivers (I'm not fully sure what I need to pay
attention to Seagate drive, Intel motherboard, or what
dell says is SCSI driver), and tried to install via a CD
boot to win2k cd an and F6, but install failed.

Not sure what to do next - I'm not extremely technical and
have exhausted my trial and error method.

Thanks in advance for you help.

Matt
