Im sure this has been asked a million times but......

what is the "x1 and x16" mean when concerning PCI Express cards?

all it means is that x16 has 16 times the bandwidth or how much info can be sent over it in a given time, usually a second, compared to x1 pci-e.

also, wikipedia can be your friend. not sure how much of what is written you need to know but it should answer your questions.
