I've decided to keep my Barton 2500 based system running a bit longer and need a new video card. I'm considering the X1650 Pro. Also considering a couple of nvidia based cards. My motherboard is an Abit NF7-S v2. A couple years ago...2004 maybe...I tried an ATI based card and my system wouldn't complete post. It's been fine with an fx5200 but I need a new card. Are there any common issues or problems with ATI cards on these? Anything to watch out for?

The chipset isn't going to prevent the card from running. You just don't have any options for running CF. If you run into any problems it will probably be a power issue and not a video card to motherboard compatiblilty issue.

Sorry, "running CF"?

While my PSU is probably underpowered by current standards, it is a 400w PSU...Antec SL400 which says 18a on the +12v.
