I have home xp on my current computer. (no excel) I have an old version of
office pro 2000 that does have xp. Can I use the xp and install only the
excell from office pro 2000? I'm not technically knowledgable as you my tell.
I appreciate any helpful advice you may have.

Yes, simply put in the Office disk in your CDROM, then choose a custom
install, and select only the product you want to have installed. For further
help, please refer to this group:

Tom, you have just saved one software-backward fellow from spending
unnecessary cash; and driving to the office to do reports over this weekend.
Thanks so much for taking the time to help out.

P.S. If you are like me, just open the help tab during installation, and it
will explain how to choose the products you want.
