I want to tweak my max MTU registry setting from 1452 to 1492 and am running windows9x. I am told to change the setting in the regitry here:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Class\NetTrans\000n.
when i get to the netTrans folder...there are setting folders numbered from 0000-0014. how do i determine which 000n folder to place the new string into?.

The more I learn.....the less I realize I actually know!!

Yeah, I vote to flip it on 'auto' too. Speedguide makes a noticable difference, but if you're really hardcore, you can 'ping' your nearest dns server to see what the optimal packet size is. Mine is actually real close to 13k, but I never use anything higher than 7.5k.
