Would anyone know how much power I would need for the Geforce 8600?

I'm planning on the ff setup and I'm not sure if the 250w PSU can handle the load.

Case: Shuttle SK22G2B V2 (250W Silent X) AM2
CPU: X2 4000+ 65w AM2 (Brisbane)
RAM: 2 x 1G DDR2 800 Corsair XMS CL4
HDD: 2 x 7200rpm
Sound Card: M-Audio 5.1 sound card
Video Card: Geforce 8600 Ultra or R600 equivalent
ODD: Lite-on 16x DVDRW

I've looked all over for wattage claims on the 8600 but havent found any.

Any help on this would be appreciated.. thanks.

Whilst no one truely knows the power requirements of the 8600 series, I would imagine a 250W PSU would be 'pushing it'. To be honest, you should be running off a 350 - at the least. That should give you a bit of headroom.

i don't know about this video card, but some lesser cards require 400watt PSU.

Highly doubtful http://www.nogripracing.com/forum/images/smilies/sad1.gif

250w wont even cut the slack. I'd say anything from 400-450w at the most. Amps are unknown.

Hmm, based on the picture on the reference board it doesn't have a power connector... while previous gen cards like the 7950.. even the 7900GS need external power.

Maybe this newer gen card might have lesser power requirements than the high end 7 series ... (e.g. 6800 vs. 7600GT).

The Shuttle 250W PSUs are good, but not *that* good. I'd be dubious!
