I'm planning on the ff setup and I'm not sure if the 250w PSU can handle the load. Case: Shuttle SK22G2B V2 (250W Silent X) AM2 CPU: X2 4000+ 65w AM2 (Brisbane) RAM: 2 x 1G DDR2 800 Corsair XMS CL4 HDD: 2 x 7200rpm Sound Card: M-Audio 5.1 sound card Video Card: Geforce 8600 Ultra or R600 equivalent ODD: Lite-on 16x DVDRW I've looked all over for wattage claims on the 8600 but havent found any. Any help on this would be appreciated.. thanks. To be honest, you should be running off a 350 - at the least. That should give you a bit of headroom. | Report abuse neveremember March 1, 2007 6:29:54 PM i don't know about this video card, but some lesser cards require 400watt PSU. | Report abuse Blacken March 1, 2007 6:49:14 PM Highly doubtful | Report abuse Related ressources Nvidia 8600GT , 9400 GT or radeon 4650 - Forum 1 8800 Ultra plus 2 8600 GTS or 1 8800 Ultra Plus 1 8800GTS 640? - Forum Cards with similar power requirements to 8600 GT - Forum [Solved] Power cable needed for NVIDIA 8600 GT ? - Forum 8600Ultra , GT and 8300 news - Forum Ask the community Publish enforcerfx March 1, 2007 11:48:44 PM 250w wont even cut the slack. I'd say anything from 400-450w at the most. Amps are unknown. | Report abuse sirheck Graphics card Expert March 2, 2007 12:12:04 AM probably not alot. | Report abuse Vip68 March 2, 2007 10:16:23 AM Hmm, based on the picture on the reference board it doesn't have a power connector... while previous gen cards like the 7950.. even the 7900GS need external power. Maybe this newer gen card might have lesser power requirements than the high end 7 series ... (e.g. 6800 vs. 7600GT). | Report abuse mkaibear March 2, 2007 11:11:05 AM The Shuttle 250W PSUs are good, but not *that* good. I'd be dubious! | Report abuse mayouuu March 2, 2007 7:23:53 PM i would say not!, just hope a power draw of about a 7950GT, maybe more..... | Report abuse Register or log in to remove Ask the community Publish Tom's Hardware>Forum>Graphics & Displays>Power requirements for Nvidia 8600 Ultra / GT> Related ressources: ForumFX 8600GT or FX5900 Ultra ForumIt's March!
