Hi All,
I just purchased an HP iPAQ hx4705 Pocket PC [it has Windows Mobile 2003
SE.] Everything is great except that sometimes on the main screen (today
screen) I loose the bar that has the battery icon, memory icon, and the
other ones that come on that last bar on the screen as default. It's like
that entire bar dissapears and then when I navigate to other menus and come
back to the main screen, the area allocated for the bar is not "re-freshed"
so I see the screen underneath through it... the weird thing is that if I
click on where the battery icon would normally be, the battery screen shows
up... so it's like it is aware of the icons but it just doesn't draw them...
it doesn't always happen, but just occasionally.. the solution is a
soft-reset... did any of you experience a problem like this? What could it
be related to? I thought maybe it just doesn't have enough memory for the
drawing, so I played w/ the memory settings, I stopped all programs
running.. I tried everything and nothing fixed it.. just a soft reset.
Thanks a lot!

Same happened here with a hx2750. To get it back without a
soft reset, go to Start>>Settings>>Today>>Items>>untick
the TodayPanel check box, close everything, then go through
the whole thing again and check it back on.
A soft reset is easier ;-)
I finally decided that the Today Panel simply does not play well
with the 2750, and I just turned it off permanently. My 2750 runs
better without it, and all the stuff it does can be done in other ways.
