this card will be killer for all games to date, just as fast as the GTS 640mb, you only might start to run in to problems if newer games start using more texture memory than 320mb
I just got the EVGA superclocked version of this card to play Quake 4 and HL2:E2 when it comes out. I have all settings maxed in Q4 at 1600x1200 (except Ultra quality which uses uncompressed textures and overwhelms the 320MB memory) and I am getting frame rates above 100. For somebody who recently upgraded from an FX5200, I am completely blown away. HL2:E1 consistently gets >120FPS in full quality at 1600x1200.
I do have to admit that the drivers are an ongoing issue with ALL 8800's, especially in Vista, but they're working for me now and will only get better so I'm not complaining.
Bottom line with this card: if you uase resolutions of 1600x1200 or less (especially 1280x1024 or less), this will do ANYthing that the other cards (GTX flavor included) can do.

I agree. I just ordered an Inno3d GeForce 8800 GTS 320MB Overclock Edition (570/1800Mhz). This card is almost the same speed as the XFX XXX edition, which kicks the standard 8800GTS 640 MB in the butt. The only bad thing is games with textures of very high-res, in which the 320 MB will not be enough. But taking into consideration that this Inno3d is even cheaper than a standard 8800GTS 320MB from other brands, it simply rocks. As long as you don't play above 1600x1200, there's no need to fork out another 100 bucks for the 640MB version. Oh, and Inno3D has an overcloked 640Mb version cheaper than the standard 640Mb versions from other brands too...
Definitely...it's all about what res you play at. Besides, I'm thinking add another 8800 320 in SLI sometime later in the year or early next year when prices drop and that will SCREAM! Does anyone know if the combined 640 MB mem of dual 8800 GTS 320 in SLI will allow the larger textures or higher resolutions that a single large mem card allows? (sorry to piggyback)
Oh yeah, and here's slashzapper's pump-up:
You will be blown away by this card! Your frame rate will double at least! Your eyes will be sore from not wanting to blink! Your power consumption will triple because the card is so powerful! (mine idles around 60°C BTW) Seriously, the thing kicks arse and you can't get more bang for the buck right now.

Higher resolution gamming, thats for sure. Thats the whole point of SLI/Crossfire (no one should do SLI/CROSS for resolutions below 1600x1200 because the gain is poor). As for having the equivalent of 640MB for high quality textures I'm not sure, but I think yes. So go for it! (I'll wait for the R700 or G90, as I'm not into dual GPU configs, but that just me).

Unfortunately 8800 GTS 320MB in SLI does not equal 640MB. This is because each singly frame is rendered by an individual card in SLI. You will see FPS increase in SLI at levels where the 320MB is not a factor, but you'll still run into the same memory limitations.
I do agree about the proponents of this card. The 8800 GTS 320 is the way to go if your playing at 1600x1200 or below. Definitly a big improvement over your 1800 gto and should keep you happy for a while.
