More Information

Hi all.

I was hoping you could help me find a good, cheap socket 939 motherboard that:
1) Is very cheap; and
2) Overclocks well.

I'm thinking of picking up an X2 3800+. My current MOBO won't OC past an HT of 210. That is, it won't post past 210. I can OC from windows, but not from the BIOS. And when I do OC from windows, it becomes less stable than my OC from the BIOS (210*11= 2.34Ghz on a 3500+).

I don't need SLI/Xfire or anything like that. What I do need is a PCIe x 16 slot, a PCI slot for my sound card, at least 1 more PCI/PCIe slot for a video capture card, Ethernet port (faster the better), and a lot of USB inputs.

If the board is either too expensive (I'd say $80 or so would be my absolute limit, though I'm not sure I'd even spend that) or it wouldn't let me reach 2.4-2.6 ghz, then it wouldn't be worth it. I'd be better off running stock or spending $300 more to go C2D.

Thanks.
