Gigabyte GA-965P-DQ6 & TWIN2X1024-6400C4 & Conroe E6600
Power Supply:pC Power & Cooling TURBO-COOL 850 SSI T85SSI SLI, EPS12V, SSI
Video: ATI X1950Pro

When I power-up I get black screen
The white background 'StartUp Screen' just barley visible
The white background 'StartUp Screen' at full brightness
Back to black
It loops through this sequence (takes about 20sec), will not recognize a keyboard 'DEL' key (or any other key) to get to the bios screens.

I have disconnected external attachments with only video, and 1 mem stick, and keyboard&mouse. The memory is listed as approved by Gigabyte and Corsair websites. Have tried a different power supply. Nothing helps.

Please Help!

This may seem like a foolish question, but do you have the 6-pin power plug connected to the video card?

And, is the video card in the PCI-e slot closest to the processor,

and,

is the card down and latched in the slot?

sruane,
Thanks for the reply. Yes, I have the 6-pin connected, in the PCI-e slot closest to the processor, and it is seated properly.

I've also tried a cheapo straight PCI video card with the same results.

Thanks,

The 965P chipset is very demanding in its memory requirements. You might not be providing enough voltage to your RAM. Try booting with just one stick. If that helps, then you need to raise the voltage on your RAM bus.
