so i think it's definately worth it to go to 640mb because of the resolutions it would need to run...right? i'm interested in gaming at the highest resolutions possible, do games run at 1600 or generally only go to 1200? I am looking in to the 8800 series in the next month or two then hopefully pick another one up once the prices drop in a yr? or so. So which cards would you recommend... can i get away with a ~$300 8800gts or do a need to go ~$550 8800gtx?

on a side note -- would it be possible to run an 8800 series and a 8900 series when they come out in SLI?

Thanks for any input.

probably best to go with atleast the 640mb version.

games can run at most resolutions. from the lowest to the highest.

some like f.e.a.r. (i play it at 16x10) and its not optimized for that res.
to get bf2 to play i had to do a bit of a hack.

as far as the 88-89 question about sli, maybe? maybe not?
