Price of barcelona (best guess)

What do you guys think the barcelona chips will cost when they first come out.And do you think amd will release any chips to compete against the now(and by then even more) affordable e6600 anytime soon

If i would have to guess i would say its starting price would def. be $900 min. and up to maybe $1300+ depending on how it compares to what Intel has out, at that perticular time.

AMD are sooo far behind Intel ATM, the only way they can compete is on pricing. I know nothing of the Barcelona's but expect they will price their flagship around or above the 6600? and prob go lower than the 4300, tho with the expected price cuts this will be hard.

Sounds like u want t wait for Barcelona? Dont. It wll be a long time b4 AMD is really competing again.

Well somthing like that depending on the performance it will bring.
They will need to bring it in comp prices compaired to intel quad core.
And its better to sell 2 at 999 then 1 at 1299...

Keep in mind that it is 3x as big as a x2 at 65nm.

As for AMD borrowing from intel
They both borrow from eachouter when they can but as most in barcelona is evolutuanary (sorry the spelling) with just dubbling the width.

Data Cache Bandwidth 2 x 64-bit loads/cycle -> 2 x 128-bit loads/cycle
L2/Northbridge Bandwidth 64 bits/cycle -> 128 bits/cycle
