Hi,
This is possibly a really dim question, but I appreciate that you lot are generally kindly, so bear with me. I am building an AM2 PC, and have got a Gigabyte GA-M57SLI-S4 mobo. This has an orange holder around the CPU into which the cooler supplied with AMD's CPU's fits like a glove. There's a picture of it, or one very like it, here :-

I have got a NORTHQ cooler the 3312BLA, which allegedly (e.g. on the NorthQ website and at my suppliers) supports AM2 systems.

The cooler instructions do not mention AM2 at all, and there is no obvious way to set it up. Should I have another mounting piece for it? Do the clips which hold in the Intel PC's into a Socket 478 also work for this?

I will do nothing pending more advice.

Thanks in advance,

AnthonyStaines
