Freedom Phalanx Accolade

I got my first accolade, Atlas Medallion, last night on my level 30
scrapper. (I know I'm a bit of a late comer to accolades). After
getting my spelunker badge, going to all of the history plaques and
location badges, and hunting about 75 wolves (I had 25% of the badge
bar for Silver Bullet); I had my +5 endurance. Woot!

I'm all fired up now to try my hand at the Freedom Phalanx accolade. I
know what I'm up against with everything except the fake nemisis badge.
Is this one doable at level 30? I've never been to Crey's Folley --
it looks like that's the area for these guys.

It supposed to give +10% to hit points (but I've also read +100, and
I'm not sure which is correct).

The achievement requirements are:
Gearsmasher (clock), Tank Buster(freaks), Unveiler (Nemisis)

The rest of it is just exploration and history.

The accolade that gives both end+/hp+ (Portal Jockey) looks like you
have to fight a bunch of AVs. I know I'm not ready for that one yet.

Damn. I don't see myself going to areas too high for my level and
begging missions. Guess I'll wait till about 38 or so.

I meant 100 hp total not percent. I was just reading on the board and
confirmed it is 10% and not 100+ HP.

I think I got Gearsmasher doing the Synapse TF. Gears are also pretty
easy to find at the top level streets in Skyway.

Tanks are easy to find in Brickstown, but they are bosses, and you have
to kill a hundred of them. My scrapper requires massive dosses of
purple and red inps to do bosses(or a good defender/controller helper),
so it will take a while (but I should get great XP doing it).

I was excited about the Phalanx accolade until I found out that the
Fake Nemesis are 40+ lvl bosses. I might try a broadcast or two in PI,
although I hate to do that kind of thing. But first I'll get all of
the other prerequisites.

So are Gears just the little guys that pop up when a boss is arrested?
If so, I'm glad I got that one before I3 went in.
I don't know why but I was thinking it was just clocks in general.

Gratz. I teamed with a defender and hunted Striga for wolves and vamps
until we had both badges. He was missing the history badges, so went off
to get them. That +5 End is nice to have.

Is that the +HP, +End one? I know I looked it over and it's pretty tough
before about 35-38, I think. I'm working on Conspiracy Theorist for the
Crey pistol; need the Doctor's Ally badge (mission) and the Infiltrator
(kill Paragon Protectors).

Fake Nemeses don't show up less than level 40. You need about 100 of
them... It's not doable solo at your level, you'd have to join up with a
higher-level team doing Nemesis missions. Go to Peregrine and broadcast
for one if you want it the accolade at this point... most likely people
will be so surprised that you're not asking for "teh wolfes mission"
that you shouldn't have any problem finding a group.

I think 10% - doubling your HP would change the game entirely.

Argh. Three "pound a bunch of hard to find foes" badges. I'll probably
pass. Especially those damn Gears.

Yeah, most of them are pretty tough. The Atlas Medallion is reasonable,
as is the Conspiracy Theorist; I'll collect the others as I have time and
inclination (which ain't much).

<SNIP>

Gearmasher - 100 Gears - Synapse TF == got it in one try at the TF, but we
had 8 people in the group and our highest was at 21 so we had a lot of the
bosses to beat upon.

Tank Buster - 100 Tanks - Sister Psyche TF == had to do this one twice to
get all the tanks I needed

Unveiler - 100 Fake Nemesis Bosses == not Nemesis bosses as they are found
in Crey's Folly, but the ones that have 'Fake Nemesis' as their villian
name. PI and missions from PI contacts. Nasty buggers, usually level 40 and
they sometimes have those dang Nemesis LTs with them and their god-forsaken
vengance. Best suggestion: find a tanker of lvl 40/41 that also wants the
badge and beg them. Good xp though when I was running my defender with a
tanker, kept him buffed and got the kill credit as long as I was within
range. Had to jump out of range occaionally due to the WarHulks that also
sometimes with them..

The +10% hit points is to your base HP. It is permanent and automatic, and
you can lose it when you exemp. So, losing while exemp'd is the best reason
to get it early.

Gears are trivial, especially if you do decent damage. Go to Faultline.
Enter zone. Go left. Kill clock bosses. Kill gears.

If there are other players hunting that corner, join them and exemp
down, which makes it a lot more entertaining.

Freak Tanks? Just do the Freakshow Respec Trial. Succeed or fail at the
trial, you'll get a sick amount of badge progress.

Fake Nemesis will require street hunting in PI or the Shadow Shard, or
doing the Nemesis missions with a fairly good-sized team to get the
badge. Fake Nems are common in PI/SS and on Nemesis missions with a team
of 5+ though.

Yeah, but you have to pound a Prince down, then pound 2-3 Gears down each
time. Tedious more than anything.

This is true.

But the serious obstacle to the accolade is the Fake Nemesis badge. Once
you have that and the Tank badge, you can knock out the Gear badge any
time you can be bothered to.

Iffy. It really depends on you AT and build.

As I recall the fake nems on the docks in PI range from level 34 to
level 36.

I don't remember there being many (maybe any) fake nemesis in Crey's
Folly, just the other nemesis mobs.

I think I started hunting them at 30/31 with Shadeling (MA/reg), but
that was me actually being able to hit them since I slotted 2 acc SOs
per attack.

+3's took a long time, +4's were just barely doable

I guess the only way to tell if your scrapper could, would be to try.

It's 10%

That is indeed what you have to do.

[yeah double post - I really shouldn't post before coffee - totally
misremembered the levels of nems.]

I guess the only way to tell if your scrapper could, would be to try
once you reach the proper level.
